So how does it work?

A little elasticity

Reusable rapstraps stretch by 50-100%. Normal cable ties cannot do this, and if pulled too tight they can easily damage plants or structured cable such as cat6 and fibre optic Rapstrap is produced from soft poyurethane and can stretch by up to 100%

Rapstrap is made using a soft & flexible material and can stretch by up to 50%. The specially shaped cells are designed to exploit this feature, and they deform and flex in just the right way to permit them to pass through one another.

This novel design is a radical departure from the traditional nylon tie, which forms a single, rigid loop. By contrast, rapstrap is more like an elastic band, offering a softer binding that can be pulled to any required tension.

Self-terminating design

How to fit soft and flexible rapstrap cable ties and reduce wastage

Because the cells are identical, so is any length of strap. Hence, when a tied portion is cut off, the remaining section is still fully functional. It's basically a new rapstrap, ready for another use.

This "self-terminating" system means that the strap gets progressively used up from the back, and the front end (with the tongue still attached) is kept and used again.

Each rapstrap therefore provide several ties, and of any size. This makes them faster, more efficient and far more convenient than traditional cable ties.
